Hannah Marshall has since been recognised by organisations such as the BBC, The Princes Trust, Channel 4, and more recently New Generation sponsored by TOPSHOP at London Fashion Week. Internationally recognised, New Generation support has helped launch the careers of some of Britain’s top designers, including the likes of Alexander McQueen, Mathew Williamson and Julien McDonald.

Hannah Marshall is a contemporary luxury British brand encapsulating design experience through exquisite clothing. Sharp, refined pieces are delivered with meticulous cut and architectural lines in indulgent and often contrasting fabrics. Featuring body conscious, dynamic and voluminous silhouettes, Marshall dexterously incorporates signature tactile Braille messages into her collections which are centred on the iconic LBD. Marshall’s Braille concept stems from a curiosity of a developmental fusion of clothing and communication. Coupled with this is the intention to evolve a search for new and innovative aesthetics, the result being an intimate language of silhouette and message to be deciphered only by the wearer. This language is conveyed through the juxtaposition of heavy leather with the transparency of silk chiffon along with a fine sense of colour and obligatory black at the forefront of each collection.

At only 25, British designer Hannah Marshall’s ascent from fresh-faced fashion graduate to internationally acclaimed young designer has been nothing short of meteoric. A rising star of the fashion firmament, Hannah Marshall has produced just three collections under her eponymous label, all have signalled the beginning of what is to become the reinvention of the Little Black Dress. February 2007 saw the introduction of her distinctive AW07 ‘Quiet Noise’ collection which debuted at the On|Off exhibition followed by the much anticipated catwalk shown SS08 ‘VoID’ in September 2007 and most recently for AW08 “Code Black” was shown as part of New Gen at London Fashion Week.

A native of Toronto, Godfrey realized his dream of becoming a designer while working his first summer job at Hugo Boss. He studied finance at Montreal’s McGill University in order to gain a grounding in business and accounting. Upon graduating, Godfrey headed to Wall Street and worked for Citigroup. While learning the finer points of finance, Jay’s goal of designing a collection led him to Parsons School of Design. An internship with Oscar de la Renta fine-tuned the young designer’s style and technique, and helped him determine the ultimate Jay Godfrey woman.

Having only been in business for a little over two years, Godfrey has quickly cultivated his signature aesthetic, which perfectly lends itself to the fashion-forward and glamorous woman. The collection has caught the media’s attention and has been featured in WWD, ELLE, Cosmopolitan and the New York Post. Godfrey’s designs have also captured a loyal celebrity following and he is proud to have dressed Eva Mendes, Jennifer Lopez, Petra Nemcova, Carmen Electra, Sarah Michelle Geller, Gabrielle Union, Kate Walsh, Katherine Heigl and Jaime Pressly.
